A Coastal Kitchen Refresh in Jacksonville’s Deerwood Area

At Corbella Kitchen & Bath, we believe a meaningful transformation doesn’t have to mean a complete overhaul. Sometimes, a carefully planned refresh, focused on the right materials and smart design choices, is all it takes to completely change how a kitchen looks and feels.

That’s exactly what we delivered for a Jacksonville homeowner who came to us with a small condo kitchen, a big vision, and a strict budget to work within.

The Starting Point: Builder-Grade and Due for an Upgrade

The kitchen was functional but far from inspiring. The countertops were standard builder-grade, the kind typically sourced from big-box home improvement stores, and the overall aesthetic lacked the elevated, coastal feel she was going for.

Her goals were clear:

  • Replace the builder-grade countertops with a higher-quality material
  • Achieve a clean, coastal-inspired look
  • Maximize usable counter space in a very compact kitchen
  • Do it all within a strict budget

The Design Vision: Coastal, Clean & Space-Conscious

From the start, this project was about making every decision count. With limited square footage and a defined budget, there was no room for anything that didn’t serve both form and function.

Our client had been saving for this refresh, and when she was ready, we were too. Our team worked thoughtfully to bring her vision to life without compromising on quality or going over budget.

Countertop Upgrade: Builder-Grade to White Dallas Quartz

The most impactful change was replacing the existing countertops with UMI Granite – White Dallas, a crisp, clean surface that immediately elevated the kitchen’s aesthetic.

White Dallas was the perfect fit for the coastal vision:

  • Light, airy appearance that complements a coastal palette
  • A significant step up in quality and finish from builder-grade materials
  • Durable and easy to maintain

Sink & Faucet: Smarter Design, More Space

In a small kitchen, every inch of counter space matters. When replacing the sink, the client opted for a smaller undermount model –  a deliberate choice that freed up valuable workspace along the countertop.

For the faucet, we installed a Delta Arctic Stainless faucet – a sleek, modern finish that complements the White Dallas countertops beautifully. The installation also involved converting from a three-hole setup to a single-hole design, which delivered two important benefits:

  • A cleaner, more streamlined look at the sink area
  • Additional counter space where the extra holes once were

Cabinet Update & Appliance Integration

To modernize the kitchen’s overall appearance and improve functionality, we removed an existing cabinet and installed a new dishwasher in its place. The addition of a custom appliance panel to conceal the dishwasher gave the kitchen a built-in, intentional look; a simple upgrade that makes a noticeable visual difference.

Finishing Details: The Toe-Kick That Ties It All Together

One of the smaller but most visually impactful finishing touches was replacing the exposed, unfinished wood toe-kick with the Designer’s Choice toe-kick in Chalk White.

It’s the kind of detail that’s easy to overlook during planning but impossible to ignore once it’s done right. The Chalk White finish ties seamlessly into the overall coastal aesthetic and gives the kitchen a polished, cohesive look from floor to counter.

What Makes This Project Special

This kitchen refresh is a testament to what’s possible when thoughtful design meets smart budgeting. No walls were moved. No major construction was involved. Yet the result is a kitchen that looks and feels completely transformed.

By focusing on the upgrades that would deliver the greatest visual and functional impact, the countertops, sink, faucet, and finishing details, we were able to deliver a beautiful, coastal-inspired kitchen that stays true to her budget and vision.

Nancy was thrilled with the outcome, and the project sparked a conversation about a future bathroom remodel – proof that a great remodeling experience builds lasting trust.

Thinking About Refreshing Your Kitchen?

You don’t always need a full renovation to fall in love with your kitchen again. If your countertops feel dated, your fixtures feel tired, or your layout just isn’t working as hard as it should, a targeted refresh may be exactly what you need.
